B.E.’s love for writing started young, but faced an early hurdle. Years later, his passion roared back and he penned a stunning 4 novels!

Early Life and Background

B.E. Harmon hails from Eatonville, Florida, a town celebrated as the first incorporated all-black community in the United States and the birthplace of famed Harlem Renaissance writer, Zora Neale Hurston. This historic setting profoundly influenced Harmon’s upbringing. Raised by Leonard and Linda Harmon, B.E. spent his formative years in the neighborhood affectionately known as “Chocolate City.” This vibrant community, rich in culture and history, played a pivotal role in shaping his love for literature and storytelling. Harmon’s early education at Hungerford Elementary School was where his passion for books truly blossomed, setting the stage for his future as a writer.

Initial Writing Attempts

During his high school years at Edgewater High School, Harmon made his first foray into writing. Fueled by a deep desire to tell stories, he wrote a 10-chapter short story. However, his dreams were quickly dashed when his initial effort was harshly criticized, leading him to abandon his aspirations of becoming an author. This setback could have ended his literary journey, but the flame of creativity never fully extinguished within him.

Career as a Day Trader

Years later, Harmon ventured into the world of day trading alongside his childhood friend Daniel Gamble. For six years, he successfully navigated the complexities of the stock market, earning enough to support his wife and two children. Despite his financial success, Harmon felt an unfulfilled void in his life, a persistent yearning for something more meaningful.

Return to Writing and Entrepreneurship

This longing led him back to his first love—writing. Determined to succeed this time, Harmon dedicated himself to studying the craft of writing, learning the intricacies of storytelling and the mechanics of novel creation. Simultaneously, he founded Harmon Media Group LLC and West Brown LLC, an ATM machine business, to ensure financial stability while pursuing his passion.
Living in Leesburg, Florida, with his childhood sweetheart and wife of nearly twenty years, along with their two sons and four grandchildren, Harmon found the support and inspiration he needed. His renewed dedication bore fruit as he authored his first novel, “All In,” along with three other books. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, blending entrepreneurial ventures with his creative pursuits.

Future Plans and Aspirations

In 2024, Harmon aims to make writing his full-time career. He is also exploring new creative avenues, including stage plays and movie scripts. His vision for Harmon Media Group LLC is to become a powerhouse in the literary and entertainment industries, bringing diverse stories to a wide audience and creating opportunities for other aspiring writers.
